MAPLE OFFERS PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR PROCTOR TERMINATION

“Colonel Noble Had No Other Choice”- D. Galvin MAPLE President

Fox25 reporter Ted Daniels contacted MAPLE President Dennis Galvin this morning asking for a public comment with regard to the termination of Trooper Michael Proctor.   Galvin stated that he believed that the termination was the correct decision, adding that Colonel Noble did not have much choice.”    Galvin added that the Proctor matter damaged Mass State Police credibility, and it had to be dealt with decisively, which is what Colonel Noble did.   Daniels asked if MAPLE thought the efforts by the state police have been sufficient. Galvin said that they have not been and reiterated a call for a “Blue Ribbon Commission” on the order to the Rampart, Christopher, Knapp and Mollen Commissions to conduct a stem to stern review of the state police to examine structures and processes to see if they can be improved to root out corruption and misconduct. Galvin said these reviews are periodically necessary. The interview was conducted via zoom for possible broadcast.
