Lt. Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble New Jersey State Police Gets The Nod

Making one of her most decisive decisions to date Governor Maura Healey has announced the appointment of Lt Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble, formerly of the New Jersey State Police as the new permanent head of the Mass State Police. She is the first Governor to take advantage of the 2020 Police Reform law which allows the Governor to go outside of the State Police to select its top leader. In making her pick, Healey said that she wants to re-establish professionalism, integrity, competence and skill to the statewide law enforcement agency.
The Boston Globe reached out to MAPLE for comment. We went on record stating: “We are encouraged by the selection. Colonel Noble has the requisite experience with an agency of comparable size and one that has also gone through the experience of reform. We are hopeful over this selection.” (see attachment)
