FORMER DIRECTOR ANN MARIE ROCHELEAU IS RECOGNIZED

MAPLE Business Is Conducted to Close out 2023.

            Stonehill College Criminal Justice professor, Ann Marie Rocheleau was recognized by President Galvin and the MAPLE membership for her four years of service (2019 to 2023) on the Board of Directors.  Galvin noted that Ann Marie was the first college faculty member to venture into association with the organization.  Her service to the board was instrumental in facilitating the bond that now exists between the officers and educators.  She was also the lead contact for facilitating the use of the facilities at Stonehill College over the years.  In other business, minutes from the June meeting in Littleton were unanimously approved. Treasurer Bill Rose reported MAPLE assets for the year at 6.9K and liabilities at 1.1K leaving a balance in the treasury of just under 5.8K. Reports were received from Bob Champagne representing the police leadership committee and John Collauti representing the Mental Health Committee.   Bob Champagne reported that his committee is working on a series of specific reform recommendations covering all aspects of policing, which should be before the general membership next spring. John Collautti reported that the Mental Health committee is take a close look at both the issue of mental health policy in society, as well as, policies specifically focused on police officer wellness.    President Galvin informed the membership that Chief Lester Baker, of the Framingham Police and a member of the POST commission, who was originally scheduled to speak, had to send his regrets because of several funerals he had to attend, one included the tragic death of Officer Paul Tracey of the Waltham Police.

ATTENTION POLICE LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE:

The Police Leadership Committee voted at its last meeting December 14th 2023 to suspend its meetings until mid January. Meetings will remain on Thursday afternoons at 2PM via zoom. Notice will be given prior to resumption of the sessions.
