Two Appointments Made To MAPLE’s Board of Directors
The Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Association For Professional Law Enforcement has appointed two members to fill open slots. Terry Parham, a retired Deputy Director of the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Frank Mancini, a retired Boston Police Superintendent were appointed yesterday by a majority vote of the Board. Terry brings with him extensive global experience with regard to combating the international trafficking in illegal narcotics, having served both on the street, as a case agent, and subsequently as an agency liaison in South America. Frank brings extensive urban police experience both as a line officer, supervisor, district commander and then as head of the Boston Police anti public corruption effort.
During last spring’s election, two of the nine slots on the Board went unfilled. Under MAPLE’s bylaws, the Board can appoint members to fill those slots when they are uncontested during an election of officers. Terms of office are for two years, these appointments will extend until the next election of officer which will be held in the spring of 2025.
With these two appointments, the MAPLE Board of Directors now boasts one of the most qualified leadership teams of any police reform group in the Commonwealth. In addition to these appointments the other members and their backgrounds are as follows: Dennis Galvin (President)- Major, Mass State Police (ret), Bob Champagne (Vice President)-Chief Peabody Police (ret), Bill Rose (Treasure)- Federal Bureau of Investigation (ret), Marcel Beausoleil (Secretary)-Deputy Commander Woonsocket Police RI (ret). Directors are Kathleen Dennehy- former Commissioner of Corrections in Massachusetts, Ann Marie Mires- Forensic Anthropologist- Faculty Anna Marie College. Al Puller- Lieutenant Mass State Police.
